Bagatelle: committed to sustainable agriculture in Martinique

SARL Bagatelle is an agricultural enterprise with two production sites located in the communes of Gros Morne and Trinité. Its primary activity is banana cultivation on 110 hectares, destined for export to the French market.

Since the 2010s, the company has dedicated approximately 4 hectares to crop diversification, growing limes, avocados, dragon fruits (pitayas), and plantains for the local market.

With a team of 78 employees from various Caribbean backgrounds, SARL Bagatelle values the work and skills of every individual.

As Director of SARL Bagatelle since 2022, with 31 years of experience in the banana industry, our business has faced many challenges in recent years, including:

• Continuing to modernize and improve working conditions through mechanization and automation of our work tools, making our profession more attractive.
• Maintaining French banana production in the face of low-cost foreign competition, climate change, market demands, and workforce renewal challenges.
• Supporting job preservation in our industry amid growing unemployment in Martinique.
